Why
Young women face barriers to accessing digital skills training, professional networks and dignified work. Addressing these barriers requires more than technical instruction; it also requires mentorship, practical support, access to devices and opportunities to transition into employment.
What
SisTech is a NairoBits program delivered in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, designed to improve access to dignified and fulfilling work for 960 young women aged 18–35 from Mathare, Kibera, Mukuru and rural Nyamira. The program combines digital skills training, life skills, mentorship, Labour Market Integration and a Device Ownership Model.
How
NairoBits combines technical training with personal development, mentorship and employment support to help participants build the skills and confidence needed to pursue opportunities in Kenya’s digital economy. Through Labour Market Integration and the Device Ownership Model, the program also addresses the transition from training to work and access to the tools participants need to apply their skills. The approach addresses unequal access to the digital economy by connecting training with practical opportunities and sustained support.
